Public Review Draft General Plan

The project team has completed a draft comprehensive update to the City’s General Plan. General Plan 2045—the City of Lawndale’s Updated General Plan—embodies the spirit of shared community opportunity. Through thoughtful planning, Lawndale is prepared to make decisions that support the community’s long-term goals.

Draft Environmental Impact Report (EIR)

The City of Lawndale has prepared a Draft Environmental Impact Report (DEIR) for the City of Lawndale General Plan Update (Project) to address the environmental impacts associated with the Project at a programmatic level. The proposed Project is a long-term plan consisting of policies that will guide future development activities and City actions. No specific development projects are proposed as part of this General Plan Update. However, the program EIR can serve to streamline environmental review of future projects.

2021-2029 Adopted Housing Element (Certified October 13, 2022)

The City of Lawndale is pleased to share its 2021-2029 Housing Element adopted by the City Council in February 2022 with minor modifications made in September 2022. The California Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD) has found the City’s adopted Housing Element in compliance with State Housing Law.
